Givens Buoy Life Raft: Designed by NASA
In its recently released Spinoff publication, NASA details the partnership with Givens Marine Survival Co. in creating the life raft used to save astronauts who land at sea. NASA and Givens were both developing a balast chamber that would right the raft in the most extreme conditions. Givens was given an exclusive license for the patented NASA system. After a tragedy in Florida, the independent boating Web site BoatTest.com recommends the ultimate safety of a Givens life raft. In a follow up piece they explain that they don't sell endorsements or recommendations.
